Wedding Photographer in Florence

Things to ask a photographer for a choice in line with your expectations.

There are many characteristics that distinguish a photographer and many aspects to know for a choice that is appropriate for your event which is the wedding. In this article I want to give you some advice for those who intend to organize their wedding in Campania where I work mainly.

The word Empathy plays a fundamental role during the choice of your photographer, for this reason before any wedding for me it is essential to know the couples who have decided to take the most important step of their life, the Wedding. And precisely because what I am going to tell will be something unique that will stay with you all your life it is essential to meet the couple to have a cognitive and empathetic contact.

In addition to getting to know the photographer, having a first meeting allows the couple to ask for any clarification or uncertainty that might not make it transparent on how the photo shoot will be carried out, and with this I am talking about the photographer’s preferred style, the budget and many other useful information.

Here is some advice on what to ask a photographer:

What is your photographic style?

Interacting with the photographer before any wedding gives a clearer idea of the style adopted and whether it reflects the one sought by the couple. My way of taking photos is based on a mainly reportage or documentary style, even if the final work always includes a good percentage of portraiture and environmental photography.

I always try not to be intrusive during the scene, every moment of fun for the spouses must not be invaded or compromised but left to flow to be told in the best way by my camera. Usually during the outdoor photos with the couple with great discretion I always try to guide the spouses with advice without ever compromising their intimacy by remaining distant but at the same time within the scene.

I love black and white photography in fact a good percentage of photos that I include in my works are in black and white, but this is an aspect that is always decided with the spouses based on their needs and tastes.

What is your level of experience?

I have been working as a wedding photographer for many years, my matured experience allows me to calmly manage any situation that arises at a wedding without ever losing my professional position and control, giving me the readiness to manage without any hesitation any emotional state of a bride or groom. I have been taking photographs since I was little with the first rolls of film and cameras that my father gave me, in short, photography has always been with me.

What clothing do you wear during work?

A very important aspect that should never be underestimated is understanding how your photographer will present himself at your wedding, the clothing must be elegant and in tune with the preparation of your wedding. If your party is based on particular colors, a unique and original style, it is good practice to inform the photographer so that he can adapt with suitable clothing

I normally wear elegant but comfortable outfits that allow me to work comfortably, the choice is valid for me and for all my staff.

If a particular clothing is requested I always try to respect it.

Elegance also means wearing clothes without logos and writings that could contrast with the mood of the wedding and with my way of presenting myself, always very sober and elegant, obviously all in relation to the time of year.

Do you have any advice for us on the locations chosen?

Having experience with the wedding locations chosen by the couple can be very useful for organizing the photographic work. I know many locations in the area with which I collaborate, I know the spaces, the light and the best times to be able to take unique and memorable shots. Having this knowledge allows you to always respect the wedding times and to carry out the photographic service in total serenity

Do you have collaborators?

Mine is a small, well-organized studio located in the province of Salerno capable of creating wedding photography services at any level. I always avail myself of the collaboration of a second or third photographer to cover the entire event from any angle without leaving out any detail or important moment. When requested by the couple, a video operator will follow me for video and drone shooting.

What are the areas of work?

My work mainly takes place in Campania and throughout Italy but I also have experience abroad, I have carried out work in many cities in Europe. I use a qualified translator to interact with foreign clients beyond the English language.

How long does it take to book a date?

Usually the times to set and commission a wedding date are about 9/12 months in advance. It is important to book your photographer in advance, so that we can discuss all the details calmly and give the opportunity to organize the work and the staff in the best way. Much also depends on the period obviously, during the summer season it will be much more complicated to find an available date if you are not in advance.

What are the delivery times for the work?

Delivery times vary based on the type of work done and the digital processing to be done, called in technical jargon post-production. If you opt only for a digital package, therefore only selected and edited files, the times can vary between 2/3 months. If instead we are talking about a complete job and therefore selection of files, digital processing and album, the times are extended up to 5/7 months for delivery.

What type of album do you deliver?

The BRUNOFERRARAPHOTOGRAPHY photography studio designs and processes most of its albums using a partner laboratory that creates a dedicated line exclusively for my works. All albums, regardless of whether you choose a digital photo book typology or a classic, are handcrafted in an artisanal way including the Japanese-style binding, an exclusive of my album repertoire.

The printing work is carried out in this way:

The first phase is the selection of the wedding photos that will make up the photo album. An initial selection is made according to my photographic taste if there are no particular requests from the client.

Once the selection has been defined, the post-production of the files is carried out and therefore an editing between color exposure and style used by the photographer himself, all in relation to what is his own vision of photography and that respects the identifying style for which it was chosen.

Subsequently, the processed and completed photos are laid out, this type of intervention varies depending on the type of album chosen, i.e. digital photo book or traditional album.

The final phase before the final printing and the client’s review of the work via link, the work is sent to the client via our personal server located within the studio itself. Customers can view the work by clicking or download the photos directly to their PC, so they will have the ease of viewing and approving the work with peace of mind.

Once the work is approved, it can be sent to print but only after having defined with the customers the type of fabric and the color of the covers and the album box, I use top quality fabrics meticulously chosen with elegant and exclusive colors.

The paper used for my works is the photographic paper called “Carta Y” which I prefer more than all, this paper has a high print detail and is a good compromise between brightness and detail itself.

It is also important to say that at the end of any work all the files produced are delivered to customers in digital Jpg format.

How much does the photo shoot cost?

The costs of a photo shoot as you can well understand can vary based on what the customer requests and therefore it is advisable to be clear and precise during the interview with the photographer, asking for all the details and methods to have a precise picture of the budget to commit.
